Spatial Interventions: Art Beyond the Screen

Spatial Interventions: Art Beyond the Screen

Design is not limited to digital pixels; it is about shaping how people experience their physical environments. In this collection of spatial interventions, I applied design thinking to large-scale real-world spaces. The objective was to use community art and strategic murals to transform neutral environments into engaging, emotionally resonant experiences.

Designing for Early Education:

For 'Rawdhat Al-Amal' (Kindergarten of Hope),

the challenge was to create a visually stimulating environment that fosters creativity and joy for children.

This project highlights my ability to use illustration and spatial design to positively influence

the psychological environmentof a community educational facility.

Commercial Spaces

& Customer Journey:

Spatial design plays a crucial role in commercial branding and customer experience.

For this local coffee shop, I integrated typography and hand-painted visual elements

directly onto the architecture.

By aligning the physical artwork with the brand's identity, the intervention effectively enhanced

the storefront's visual appeal, drawing in foot traffic and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for patron.

Landscape Exploration

& Color Theory:

Before applying design to digital interfaces,

I mastered the fundamentals of color theory, lighting,

and composition through traditional fine arts.

This acrylic piece demonstrates my foundational understanding of depth and natural lighting, skills that directly translate into my digital art direction and mood boarding processes.

Capturing Atmosphere

& Serenity:

A physical canvas exploring the calming influence

of coastal environments.

Working with tactile mediums like paint allows me to step away from the screen and experiment with blending techniques and atmospheric perspective, keeping my creative approach organic and grounded.

Preserving Cultural Heritage:

Spatial Trompe l'œil

As a designer aiming for global impact, staying rooted in cultural identity is crucial.

This is not a flat mural; it is a three-dimensional spatial intervention designed to transform a blank, arched niche into an authentic Tunisian doorway.

By physically building the architectural features before painting,

I aimed to create a tactile homage to my heritage.

Traditional Typography & Fine Details

Complementing the architectural intervention, I incorporated traditional Arabic calligraphy. Executing this freehand required immense precision and an understanding of classical typographic proportions. This detail shot highlights my dedication to craftsmanship and the meticulous execution required to complete the cultural narrative of the space.

Materiality & Architectural Sculpting

The process began not with paint, but with plaster.

To achieve realistic depth and shadow, I manually sculpted the iconic black and white arches (the 'Kous') directly onto the flat wall.

This physical texturing elevated the piece from a 2D painting into an architectural illusion (Trompe l'œil) that interacts dynamically with the room's natural lighting.
