FIFA World Cup 2026: Broadcast UX & Cultural Narrative
The FIFA World Cup is more than a sports event; it is a global cultural phenomenon. The challenge was to design a dynamic broadcast motion package that not only wraps up the tournament but also honors the cultural triumph of the winning nation (Spain). Approaching this from a systemic design perspective, the goal was to craft an engaging visual narrative that transcends language barriers, ensuring an inclusive and emotionally resonant digital experience for a diverse international audience.

Journey:
Translating a static brand identity into a dynamic broadcast UI requires strict adherence to Information Architecture (IA) and visual hierarchy.
I engineered a motion design system utilizing the official FIFA WC 26 brand guidelines. By carefully mapping the color palette and typography (ranging from Thin to ExtraBold), I ensured optimal legibility, accessibility, and minimal cognitive load across various screen sizes. Every vector wipe and typographic reveal was calculated to guide the viewer’s eye seamlessly through the broadcast information.
Before moving into high-fidelity digital production, I developed low-fidelity wireframes and storyboards. This phase was crucial for testing the visual flow, screen framing, and the pacing of the narrative arc. By treating the sequence as a user journey, the storyboard animatic allowed us to map out camera cuts and transitions against the audio track, ensuring that the digital experience felt intuitive, rhythmic, and highly engaging before executing the final motion keyframing.

To encapsulate the energy of the world's most-watched sports event, this sequence was designed as a dynamic broadcast experience rather than a standard promo. By orchestrating a rhythmic flow of typography, bold brand colors, and precise motion transitions, the video translates static brand guidelines into a high-fidelity visual journey. The result is an inclusive, culturally resonant digital experience that successfully engaged over 107,000 viewers globally.
